    What problem would you like to solve?

    Lack of education for city agencies and city workers make city services unavailable to people with disabilities.

    Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

    City services should be available to all New Yorkers! Because some city workers are unfamiliar with how to support and accommodate disabled people, these services are never received by those who need them.

    What idea do you have to address the problem?

    Mandatory training (similar to sexual harassment trainings) for all city workers would ensure that everyone has a baseline understanding of disability inclusion, and how to accommodate people with disabilities. The training can be made available online, or through in-person scheduled sessions.

    Who would that help?

    All people with disabilities who receive city services, and empower the city workers to be more inclusive.
