- Describe the challenge you want to address:
- Lack of community events that connects Bronxites to learn more about the boro's history, culture, and creative scene. Lack of access to cultural community events that are poorly advertised. There is a loneliness that social media can not fill in. The disconnect of intergenerational engagement to promote better understanding about each other and to celebrate the cultural richness of the boro without siloing each neighborhood separately.
- What is the solution to the challenge?
- Introducing a borough-wide calendar that fosters connections among Bronxites, promotes understanding and celebration of the boro's history, culture, and creative scene, and bridges intergenerational gaps. This initiative brings neighborhoods together, providing accessible and well-advertised cultural community events, including:\n\n- Open houses\n- Discounted tickets to local events at cultural institutions\n- Community group events in alternative spaces\n- Park events\n\nShowcased through social media, local news, PDAs, and print materials, this calendar addresses poor advertising, loneliness, and siloing, while celebrating the boro's cultural richness and creative scene. Let's build a more connected, inclusive, and vibrant community in the Bronx!
