- Describe the challenge you want to address:
- The circular plaza outside of the Utica Ave. train station on Malcolm X Blvd and Fulton Street is typically a hangout spot for teens from Boys and Girls High School, food/jewelry/plant vendors, local adults who hang out there and chat, and people walking to the train. There are no trash cans in the plaza, so litter builds up here.
- What is the solution to the challenge?
- This plaza is a popular communal hangout spot with a huge beautiful tree and so much potential! Let's install benches for people to sit on and garden beds with native plants and flowers to add beauty and life to this area! We need at least 2 trash cans there as well.
