- Describe the challenge you want to address:
- Currently The concentration of wealth has been compared to that of feudalism and slavery. Wealth inequality in NYC is a pressing issue, particularly in the Bronx. This inequality is exacerbated by high unemployment rates and the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few.
- What is the solution to the challenge?
- One solution is to empower individuals through education on worker cooperatives, a democratic business model that distributes profits among workers. Simultaneously, creating a dedicated market for cooperatives can provide a platform for these businesses to thrive and compete with traditional corporations. By combining these strategies, we can address wealth inequality, create jobs, and foster economic growth in the Bronx.
