Project Description:
\"The program aims to promote mental health awareness and build coping skills among youth aged 13-17 years residing in the Bronx, specifically Williamsbridge, Wakefield, Edenwald, Norwood, and Olinville neighborhoods.
To reach out to the youth in these neighborhoods, the marketing and outreach strategy includes school partnerships, community events, and social media promotion. Consequently, the youth will be engaged in a series of workshops lasting for an hour and a half with 10-15 youth per session to allow for meaningful discussions and activities. The workshops include:
• Mental Health Awareness - Teaching youth about the importance of mental health, reducing stigma, and recognizing signs of mental health issues.
• Coping Skills - Providing practical skills and strategies for dealing with stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, and problem-solving techniques.
• Related Activities: Incorporating activities that reinforce the learning, such as group discussions, art therapy, physical activities, or mindfulness exercises.
Funding Amount: $50,000
