A Real Stop to Speeding
What problem would you like to solve?
Street safety and traffic violence. We have to curb reckless driving.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
It is crucial to keep our communities, especially our children safe. People are speeding and driving recklessly through cameras because they can pay the small fine on their own time. People get seriously hurt.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Staten Island should put physical enforcements for speeds. Speed bumps and stop signs near schools and in places with high foot traffic is a must. We do not need a huge influx of stop lights, just signs and bumps to prevent drivers from reaching too high over the speed limit.
Who would that help?
It is a public safety concern but most importantly elementary school children.
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
West Brighton, New Brighton
