Your Money, Your Community, Your Voice.

What problem would you like to solve?
During the pandemic, the amount of Black business sky rocketed. This demonstrates that historically disenfranchised communities are able to overcome financial barriers. I believe micro grants, not "loans" for you will generate more local business and productivity without gentrification.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Kids are not prepared to enter the public/professional sector because they're constantly told they lack experience, credentials, the know-how, or simply privilege. Yet content creators, for example, are driving a multi-billion dollar industry. I have a friend that earns $600K+ by being creating content, however, he had to fight hard to get there. Youth don't recognize their full value and need to be encouraged and educated in a skill of their desire!
What idea do you have to address the problem?
There needs to be a pipeline from schools, NYCHA housing, and prisons toward business development and training. If you have an idea, we should encourage you to pursue it without "loans" that are predatory. We should not punish those for trying, especially knowing that to succeed you must first fail and make mistakes. Many entrepreneurs go bankrupt and/or are pardoned when trying to start a business. Why do we treat others different.
Who would that help?
Youth and by proximity their families and local businesses.
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
Queensbridge
