Clean streets? Our streets!
What problem would you like to solve?
This is a problem across all five boroughs but neighborhood cleanliness.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
A large part of keeping our communities safe is by keeping our communities clean. Neighborhood cleanliness can be attributed to better health outcomes, a sense of pride in our neighborhoods, and the wholeness of our communities.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
My proposal would be to fund a community clean-up crew in the East Bronx where community members (who should be adequately compensated) will be provided with the tools & equipment to pick up trash, remove graffiti, and maintain the cleanliness of our neighborhoods. It is also just as important to allocate funds to speak out regarding the importance of keeping our communities clean and how to go about doing so. How often said community members would meet to conduct these clean-up's and in which neighborhoods are TBD.
Who would that help?
Everyone! Everyone in the neighborhood benefits from safe & clean streets!
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
Ideally all neighborhoods but particularly CM district 13 in the East Bronx - the neighborhoods of Pelham Bay, Pelham Parkway, Allerton, Westchester Sq, Zerega, Ferry Point, City Island, Throggs Neck, and Morris Park.
