What problem would you like to solve?
Parking commercial & residential use.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
The Bronx only has 5 Municipal parking lots none of them are in Throggs Neck or Pelham Bay. There is an empty lot at 2931 Bruckner Blvd between East Tremont Ave & Edison Ave ,developers want to build housing on this contaminated lot. Over looking I 95 with its smog and air pollution . This commercial district needs parking for our stores to survive in the day time, our bars to survive in the evening, for our Fire Department members to park their personal cars 24 hours a day while on the job and our public school teachers to park their personal cars while teaching. Our public school was recently expanded to help relieve overcrowding now with twice as many teaches the community has a new challenge to park between the residents and the teachers there is no room. This location is the perfect solution. It is vacant , the land is contaminated so housing is not practical, Additionally there are two churches with in one block they also need parking on weekends. A parking lot at this location could solve so many problems in our community.
This lot could be leased for 99 years or purchased out right. If we lose this opportunity we will never get it back. Please help us.
