No more frozen lunch!
What problem would you like to solve?
lunch in school is bad and often is made with frozen food that is not good quality
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
You can't learn if you're hungry - and most kids don't eat the food because it's gross. It's important to solve this because children need good food in their system to have more energy throughout the day. If you're hungry, you're distracted. Better quality food affects children in a positive way for thinking and for being creative. And for some kids, this is it - this is their meal of the day and it's just nasty.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Better quality food - not frozen, but fresh. More options - like fruit stations, allowing students to go out for lunch (and maybe more $$ for that option), actually spending moey to prepare food at schools, not just heat it up.
Who would that help?
students. Teachers too because kids will focus and learn better
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
