"I'll fund myself, I just need a chance"
What problem would you like to solve?
increase employment opportunities for folks not coming from a high academic background and those who have involved in the criminal justice system
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
the majority of people want to fund for themselves and not by asking/begging/counting on welfare to sustain lives. by creating more job opportunities and working on the problem of discrimination against folks with criminal records, the city will have less homeless/jobless people.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
- a city and state mandate that employers shall not perform discriminatory acts (threatening, laying off, cutting off benefits, etc.) against people with criminal records if those folks do not generate harm (burden of proof) to the businesses.
- create jobs from underexplored areas (i.e. parks preserving tasks?) that people from lower education background can work on
Who would that help?
underserved communities, criminal justice involved folks
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
Bronx
