Find Your Own Strenghts by Looking at a Painting
What problem would you like to solve?
Create spaces and conversations about art that enable individuals to be aware of and/or reconnect with their own strengths so that we can solve an important challenge: heal from the pressure that we have been through during the pandemia.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Humans have been communicating through art, using art to tell stories, share information and heighten emotions. In this workshop, artist and museum educator Gema Álava will help you hone your observation skills and strenghts as you examine and discuss works of art.
Participants will learn to apply the following techniques in their personal life, family, community or work:
• the power of open-ended questions
• the skill of layering information
• the strength of validation
• how to connect personal experiences with critical thinking
• the importance of reflection
What idea do you have in mind?
A SERIES OF INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS, in person or via Zoom. -- By applying creative approaches and mastering the art of questioning and the art of listening it’s possible to create spaces that enable individuals to be aware of and/or reconnect with their own strengths.
Who would that help?
Any person. Any age. Anyone who would like to talk about what they see in a painting.
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
Queens, where I live.
