What problem would you like to solve?
Low-income Black Brazilian immigrant women face multiple barriers to joining the NYC workforce. They lack money for training; they face racism, sexism, and xenophobia. They also face cultural differences in the workplace, as recent immigrants
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Continuing to exclude this community supports racism, sexism, and xenophobia. Lifting this community out of poverty builds a more egalitarian society and invests in the entire borough's economic future.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Program that supports new immigrants in building a career in NYC and kick starts a support fund for people undertaking the program. The program encompasses job training and cultural differences in the workplace.
