    What problem would you like to solve?

    We are sorely lacking healthy green space in the South Bronx, with only 4.7% of our area going to parks and open green spaces. There is a lack of resources such as local-sourced honey in the South Bronx community.

    Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

    This is a global issue but on so many levels benefits the community. There is a lack of resources such as local honey in the South Bronx community. Bees are the pollinators of the Earth and help to improve the green space, and they are endangered.

    What idea do you have to address the problem?

    Operating bee hives and producing honey. There are open, empty land sites in the South Bronx that could be expanded and/or utilized for this purpose, thus increasing the green space.

    Who would that help?

    Everyone who lives and works in the South Bronx community.

    Bronx
