Healthcare Resources for Women
What problem would you like to solve?
Health care is very expensive, especially if you don't have insurance. Simple programs to educate women on their bodies and how to gain access to low-cost medical care are necessary to help prevent women from endangering themselves by not seeking medical help.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Women are not educated enough about their bodies and sometimes don't seek medical care for even small problems because of the cost. Having a system to help them understand what's going on and what they can do about it in cost-effective ways would prevent women from putting themselves in dangerous situations because they don't seek help.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Having designated people in the community centers, educate women on their bodies and explain to them where they can go to seek help for a reasonable price or even for free. Sometimes certain body issues can be solved with medication over the counter, or there are even programs that can help women with certain situations they are going through, like birthing classes or ppd group sessions, but women can't find this information on their own or at all.
Who would that help?
Women of all ages
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
