The People's Money (2021-2022)

The Friendship Bench Project will build on the NYC DOHMH Friendship Bench Model, where peers in houses of worship and other places are trained to reach out and engage in conversation and in support for people who are in need, those who need to talk, are struggling with a problem. Peers would be trained to make a phone call to connect the person to helpful services as needed or to be a listening ear. The DOHMH provides a five-hour training for training Friendship Bench peers.
