Sunset Park Wellness Month
AMPHS will work with community partners to coordinate Sunset Park Wellness Month featuring mental health, wellness, and education programming at organizations throughout the community, such as multilingual workshops on mental health awareness, wellness and coping strategies, yoga and meditation workshops, and theater performances centering mental health stories. Sunset Park Wellness Month will culminate into a multi-block outdoor event where organizations can share mental health and social support resources, hold multicultural performances, and share diverse meals to build cross-cultural solidarity and understanding.

As a Sunset Park native and business owner, bringing the resources out to the community, making it visible and accessible to all, even those that are homeless is the greatest investment. Sunset Park families have been hit hard with the pandemic and we continue to. Having the accessibility of the outdoors will bring awareness and peace of mind regarding the spreading of the variant along with opportunities for families to freely listen and participate with their children and extended families. I hope that this Initiative will consider our culture and bring us together as families during outdoor weather.
