Project Description:
Hues of Healing combines creative expression practices with facilitated mental health sessions to create a safe, exploratory environment centered on the well-being of NYC’s youth disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
Hues of Healing is a free program that will directly confront the staggering problem of mental health in NYC youth by giving participants creative tools and mental health resources to cope with the stresses they are facing now and may still confront in their futures.
With 35.9%––more than one in three––NYC youth affected by depression, we need programs designed by youth for youth. Hues of Healings is one such program and if successful can be replicated across the city to ensure no NYC young person feels hopeless in their personal mental health fight.
Hues of Healing is completely designed by NYC youth from across the city AND will engage 2-3 additional youth in paid internships to ensure authenticity and relatability. With the support of ArtsConnection, a leader in arts education for NYC, we know we’ll exceed our goals and create a really special project that can be a template used to serve NYC youth city-wide. #WeAreArtsConnected
