Within each week we will go through the astrological signs {Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, etc…} that exudes a personality trait which is synonymous with our holistic lives. The various topics like Aries to Self-Identity or Libra to Partnerships will give rise to conversations to speak on, mobilize and learn from. The Zodiac is an opportunity for youth to come to a common consensus with each other on new efficient ways to deal with related barriers and issues. Participants will also have the opportunity to enhance their career readiness such as resume building, filling out job applications {college applications included} and/or opening up a savings account.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Which of the following issues does your project address?</p><p><strong>\tThe following issues The Zodiac will address are mental health and the preparation for college and/or career…</strong></p><p><strong>Youth Engagement -&nbsp;</strong>Please explain how you will engage youth in the planning and implementation of the project.</p><p><strong>\tThe Zodiac will be a youth led program where participants are trained to be group facilitators, leaders and resource guiders. They will know how to stimulate healthy dialogue amongst each other and connect someone to available resources.&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Budget -&nbsp;</strong>Your total project budget must equal $20,000 to be placed on the ballot for a youth vote. Please provide a brief description of what the funds would be used for to successfully implement your project. You will also need to download, fill in, and attach a full budget&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.participate.nyc.gov/uploads/decidim/attachment/file/17/Budget_Template_for_Org_Submissions.xlsx\" target=\"_blank\">using this template</a>.</p><p><strong>The budget for the Zodiac would be as follows:</strong></p><p><strong>Youth Services Coordinator - $2.500</strong></p><p><strong>Graphic Designing/Printing - $5,000</strong></p><p><strong>Merchandise that Promotes Mental Health - $5,000</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;2 Party Events {DJ included} - $2,500</strong></p><p><strong>Incentives for Games &amp; Competitions - $5,000</strong></p><p><strong>\tTotal = $20,000</strong></p><p><strong>Timeline-&nbsp;</strong>Please describe the timeline for the implementation and completion of the project. All work for this project must be completed by June 30, 2021, which is the end of the city’s fiscal year and the deadline for the funds to be spent.</p><p><strong>\tFrom March to June 2021, youth will be enriched with knowledge on how to self-motivate themselves for success and provided with tactics that will give them a start towards healthier emotional lives. Youth will discuss and come up with ways to thrive while constant stimuli and stressors surround them in their everyday experiences. Participants will be educated on different mental health practices, taught financial literacy and how to organize their efforts leading to definite desired ends. We also plan to have COVID-safe outside gatherings to reestablish social connections and celebrate life.&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Project Activity Alignment -</strong>&nbsp;How does your project align with at least one of the following topics:</p><p><strong>\tThe Zodiac aligns with leadership skills development: organizing and advocacy trainings by teaching youth how to organize their individuals lives. As youth develop these life skills they will learn more efficient ways to engage with their families and society. The Zodiac also aligns with civic education and advocacy by setting youth up for success with financial literacy and career development.
