Ecolibrium - Build a Virtual Laboratory to Monitor Climate and Health in Your Community
Loisaida, Inc. will assemble a youth led inter-disciplinary coalition we call the Eco-Action Team who will work collaboratively to raise awareness on environmental justice issues and develop innovative solutions to share their experiences online through the creation of digital media. The project will bring youth together through hands-on learning and self-guided activities and training in-the-field, in-the-classroom and online.
We are putting youth at the center of the conversation about climate, health and environmental justice. The focus is on process over product in a manner to build confidence and courage to approach the unfamiliar.

Youth Engagement:
Through purpose driven activities, facilitated learning and self-guided research youth participants will be encouraged to address environmental problems that could be directly affecting them.
Experiential learning practices will be employed through the use of hands-on micro-computing, media creation, and teamwork to foster a diversity of skills according to individuals interests and capacities to advance in a given focus area (be it technical, tactile, or creative).

Timeline:
8 Facilitated/Guided 3 hour Sessions & 6 Self-guided Laboratory Hours per week, per team. Facilitated sessions will be held every Friday from 4-7pm starting February 5th through March 26th. Laboratory hours are every Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3-6pm.
