- Describe the challenge you want to address:
- Real estate developers frequently acquire properties in our neighborhood without giving adequate consideration to the preservation of historic sites that are significant to our community's heritage. Many of these sites hold cultural and historical value, representing generations of local history and identity. By prioritizing profit over preservation, developers risk erasing important landmarks that connect us to our past. It is essential for both developers and the community to work together to protect these irreplaceable places, ensuring that future generations can appreciate and learn from our neighborhood's rich history. By developing local sourced lectures/walking tours highlighting our neighborhood's rich history we hope to engage our community and beyond and impart neighbors with pride of our history and beauty that surrounds us.
- What is the solution to the challenge?
- Knowledge, input, participation and bringing this to life. We plan to develop local sourced lectures/walking tours highlighting our neighborhood's rich history. By doing so we hope to engage our community and beyond and impart neighbors with pride of our history and beauty that surrounds us.
