Source: {"body":{"en":"<p>This project will provide academic support and career development activities to young people from underserved communities to help reduce barriers and improve their chances for success.<br><br>Students will attend workshops online and in-person at UAU's Workforce Development Office on Staten Island. These workshops will help students explore career opportunities, navigate the college admissions process, and create post-secondary plans. UAU will also coordinate trips, mentoring opportunities, and case management sessions.<br><br>UAU has more than twenty years of successful experience providing workforce development services to young people in New York City. Workforce development is more than connecting young people to employers – we believe it includes helping young people learn about themselves, explore new opportunities, and develop foundational interpersonal skills.<br><br>Many young people do not receive the one-on-one support needed to successfully transition from high school to post-secondary life. When students are provided with access to information, guidance, and a strong support system they can strategically plan their future and pursue their dreams.<br><br>UAU is looking forward to building meaningful relationships with young people in our community and helping them reach their full potential.
