    The challenge that I would like to address is the lack of education for breastfeeding mothers. We have trained lactation consultants giving out breastfeeding advice yet they aren’t even properly trained in flange sizing. Some of the advice that’s being given out is completely outdated and/or completely wrong information. It’s causing a lot of women to have a hard time properly breastfeeding.
    Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:
    I think some of the information should be updated. I also think that mandatory flange sizing should be included in every lactation class. If you decide to pump; having the proper flange(s) is extremely important for a successful journey. More free access to breastfeeding advice and supplies will go a long way in helping our breastfeeding families to succeed with their breastfeeding experience.
