- Describe the challenge you want to address:
- Everyone is experiencing something and everyone needs a friend, a neighbor to hang out with, someone to cook for, someone to help with homework, someone to carpool with, someone to support you during difficult times, someone to keep you company, someone to accompany you to the DMV to combat loneliness, someone to have a catch with.
- Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:
- Adopt a neighbor is a buddy type system that sets up a buddy to "adopt" bc they have a need and the other person has the heart to help. It can just be spending an hour once a week with a senior neighbor so they aren't alone, or helping someone with homework if their parents can't afford a tutor, it's bringing someone with you to the supermarket who doesn't have a car... Stating what you need help with and having approved helpers to "adopt" someone whether it be short or long term.
- Write the zipcode that best represents your New York City community:
- 11414
