What problem would you like to solve?
The ever-too-prevalent pattern of teenagers being ignored/ not being taken seriously when it comes to mental health. Due to a number of reasons including financial dire straits, family problems, working, etc.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
The kids in high schools churn out to be the next generation of New Yorkers, manifested through important jobs/roles like doctors, chancellors, and so on. When kids come out of high school, their mental health should be akin to that of a good foundation of a house. When you have good foundations, it is stable and there is room for extra things like jobs, internships, further education etc. But, when these \"ornamentations\" are thrown on a bad foundation, you are merely masking the real problem.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Social media outreach, scouts sent to schools
Who would that help?
Students by directly speaking to them, administration and staff by implementing or acknowledging this program.
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
East NY, Starrett City, Cypress Hills
