Mobile Therapy
What problem would you like to solve?
A large number of community members likely do not have adequate health insurance or motivations to ensure mental wellbeing even though it effects our lifestyle choices.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Using COVID-19 as an example, there are people that needed help and comfort for their losses and stress, but could not reach out to anyone.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Creating mobile health vans that visit the community weekly, or gathering volunteers to work out of one of the many NYCHA spaces in order to offer free therapy to those interested is important. Also, violence us unpredictable and the impact of being able to immediately talk out concerns, feelings, and grievances could drop motives for retaliation and increase mental wellness.
Who would that help?
Young Men who are often overlooked and references to as uncivilized when in fact the pressures society place on them are not justified.
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
Queensbridge, LIC
