Help Woodhaven Youth Find Jobs
What problem would you like to solve?
Lack of job opportunities for high schoolers and young people in the community.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
This issue is important to solve as many young people are concerned about how to pay for college or how to kickstart their careers. It is relevant to the Woodhaven community as there are a number of young adults and high school students in the area who could use the stability and support of jobs or internships to help them successfully save and get vital work experience.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
A program to connect young people in the Woodhaven community to organizations and small businesses in the area and have them work. This would help small businesses run more effectively and have deeper ties to the Woodhaven area. This would help young people explore different job opportunities, gain work experience and professional skills, and save money for college or trade school opportunities. This program can connect to schools such as Franklin K. Lane Educational Campus, John Addams, High School For Construction Trades, Engineering And Architecture, & MS 210 Elizabeth Blackwell Middle School which a number of Woodhaven students attend.
Who would that help?
All of the Woodhaven community as our communities are reinvested in and our young people
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
Woodhaven
