Decrease Class Room Size; Increase Childhood Wellness
What problem would you like to solve?
The overcrowding in the community's classrooms is overburdening teachers and contributing to the poor behavior of children who are not getting enough attention.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
If we don't focus attention on this problem, teachers will burn out and children will not be able to learn. This will lead to more poor behavior in classrooms and potentially public safety issues in the future. Parents are also overburdened. This idea would allow children to excel and more focus placed on their mental health and wellness.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Each classroom size should be decreased and teachers provided with additional wellness training as well as an assistant who is a mental health professional to be able to train students with methods to resolve their frustrations, breathing exercises and other strategies for wellness.
Who would that help?
It would help students, teacher and parents.
What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?
East Flatbush
