Funding for afterschool programs at Flushing Campus
What problem would you like to solve?
Since the start of school year 22-23, September 08, no new or old afterschool programs have initiated for students at Flushing Campus because of less funding. Even last school year 21-22, we didn't had many afterschool programs.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Afterschool programs can support social, emotional, cognitive, and academic development, reduce risky behaviors, promote physical health, and provide a safe and supportive environment students.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
We need more staff and funding for after school programs at flushing campus. (Flushing high school, QHSLS, and Veritas Academy).
Who would that help?
Community of over 3,000 students of Flushing high school, Veritas Academy, QHSLS, and dozens of parents.
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
Queens borough.
