Cultural Food Pantry Services
What problem would you like to solve?
Food deprivation due to rising costs, lack of healthy food for the community and distribution of food that is more familiar to the ethnic communities.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Many people struggle to purchase healthy food in their communities due to high costs. People in need of food are being provided with foods that they are not appetizing for them or lack familiarity on how to prepare.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
Funding CBOs than can provide free tailored ethnic food to low income individuals on a daily basis. Allow them to expand to different locations and serve more people. Many immigrant communities are not being provided with pantry food that is geared to their culture. Certain communities prefer certain fruits and vegetables that many pantrys do not provide.
Who would that help?
Low income immigrant individuals and families
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens
