Domestic Violence Prevention Initiaves
What problem would you like to solve?
Domestic violence and educating adults about healthy relationships.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
We recognize that a healthy community has a foundation in healthy relationships.
Domestic violence has economic implications for employers, victims, and in terms of medical costs. It has a long-term impact on children and our communities. It’s an issue that cuts across religion, age, culture, and heritage.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
We aim to provide information, training, and resources on domestic violence prevention and healthy relationships for men 16 and older. This would include safe space training workshops on healthy relationships, warning signs of DV and toxic behavior, and introducing positive outlets and better ways to communicate verbally and nonverbally.
Who would that help?
Everyone. With the economic downturn, so many people are frustrated and fearful, and their relationships suffer. It can help reverse the increase of DV during the COVID lockdown.
