Safer Together
What problem would you like to solve?
I would like to lower crime rates in public transportation (MTA) with the helpm of high schoolers and the NYPD. At times it could be scary to use the MTA because of fear of being unsafe and dangerous.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
This project will unite teens and the public. It will teach teens about safety in their communities, giving the opening to experience and collaborate alongside the NYPD and learn about civil engagement
What idea do you have to address the problem?
High schoolers will collaborate alongside the NYPD to gain experience on ensuring safety in public transportation.
Who would that help?
This project would help motivate teens to find a career or get involved to raise awareness on civic engagement. It would provide security for the people who use the MTA.
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
Queens and Manhattan
