Why is it relevant for the community? </strong></p><p>With climate change intensifying the storms and heat we experience in the city, green roofs are a hugely underutilized tool to combat the devastating effects of climate change on multiple levels. There is a massive opportunity in New York City to improve the landscape and health of the city with a widespread adoption of green roofs. Green roofs have numerous benefits for residents, the local ecology and the city with very little downside.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What idea do you have to address the problem?</strong></p><p>We have designed an innovative green roof framework, specifically for the open restaurant program as a starting place, that can be created in a \"kit-of-parts\" manner for the city to provide to restaurants to increase the presence of green roofs in the city at street level.
