Your Voice is Powerful
Organization: Progressives Educating New Yorkers, Inc.
Project Name: “Your Voice is Powerful”
Project ID: 75
Neighborhood/Communities that the project will serve: CB Manhattan 11 (East Harlem),CB Manhattan 10 (Central Harlem),CB Bronx 01 (Mott Haven),CB Bronx 04 (Concourse/Highbridge)
Borough: Manhattan and Bronx
Project Description: Progressives Educating New Yorkers, Inc. helps youth prepare for a career and learn about the political process to get their voice heard today and in the future through paid training events. We have fun learning about careers in the insurance and music industry, help pick your dream college and help you learn how to bring your creative ideas into making your own shirts with a cricut machine.
The “Your Voice is Powerful” project will allow youth to determine their ideal career and how to use their voice to create change in their communities. It will empower youth to create and advocate on issues matters to them.
We help you figure out what direction you want to go in life, either going to college or starting your own business. We will partner with you to learn how to use your voice to create the change you want in the community, plus we provide a stipend so you don't have to choose missing a day of work to take part of our program.
What Youth are saying about the organization: The organization really cares about you, your dreams and helps you speak up even when it's uncomfortable to do so. They make entrepreneurship easy to understand, so you can get your business up, or help you put college applications together and help you decide where you should go in your life. Most importantly, THEY BELIEVE IN YOUR VOICE!

This is so needed in our community. I hope this project wins because we need to be able to figure out who we will be in the future.
