Errands for Older Adults and People with Disabilities
This project will support older adults and individuals with disabilities by providing volunteer help with errands, promoting independence, and reducing social isolation in Brooklyn.
Our organization will implement the "Community Helpers" project in Brooklyn’s Coney Island and Brighton Beach, matching trained volunteers with older adults and individuals with disabilities to assist with errands like grocery shopping and prescriptions, promoting independence and reducing isolation through culturally sensitive support.
Driven by our commitment to support vulnerable groups, we bring expertise in inclusive programming and social adult services, strong community ties, and a culturally sensitive team to deliver impactful, personalized support in Coney Island and Brighton Beach.
This project will make a difference by promoting independence and reducing social isolation among older adults and individuals with disabilities. By providing essential support with daily tasks, we empower participants to remain engaged and connected, fostering a stronger, more inclusive community where all members feel valued and supported.
We’re excited to see community bonds strengthen as volunteers and participants connect, creating meaningful relationships that foster mutual support, respect, and a greater sense of belonging for everyone involved.
