Describe the challenge you want to address:: There is currently no community organization of the garden by Emerald Park. It was once maintained by a recipient of a grant but has appeared to be abandoned since that time. It is a missed opportunity for the teachers and the students attending school 200 which is just a couple of feet away to learn about the benefits of native plants or even possibly a rain garden.
Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:: Recruit teachers of the nearby NYBG located in Queens or Queens County Farm as a consultant to initiate a garden program that could be maintained by the students and the community.
