Describe the challenge you want to address:: Having a disability can make it difficult to stay active, physically speaking; Being disabled is often an economic barrier and one impact of that is being unable to afford proper materials for exercising; some forms of exercise become physically impossible or extremely difficult; challenges in obtaining healthcare can make it difficult for disabled and often elderly New Yorkers to obtain critical information about their health status; recovering from a disabling event often requires physical therapy;
Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:: Have people volunteer to help disabled people going through physical therapy or wishing to improve their health through exercise. The volunteer can recieve some training in how to assist with disability-sensitive training regimens.
