Describe the challenge you want to address:: The USA centric view of the world. The issues and challenges that migrants and immigrants face is cultural and contextual ignorance. they are often dehymanized and reduced to numbers, statistics because of lack of understanding of cultural and historical backgrounds.
Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:: An education program that focuses on providing contextual history of the places that our immigrants migrants and asylum seekers come from. These programs can be run by previous immigrants to residents of the city to supplement NYCs understanding of what these immigrants go through that lead them to leave but more importantly understand the rich culture they come from.
