Implementing Organization: Center for the Integration & Advancement of New Americans, Inc. (CIANA)
Website: www.cianainc.org
Project Description:
CIANA will reach out to the elementary and middle school schools in Corona and identify those that do not provide digital safety training in their schools or afterschool programs. We will work with at least four schools that need digital safety training for their immigrant students and parents, and partner with them to develop and implement an ongoing digital safety training program to address this need. We will work with the schools to reach out to the students and parents whose language constraints may limit them from accessing this important information. We will customize presentations to fit the language and cultural needs of the participants, develop pre- and post- surveys to ascertain the level of knowledge of digital risks, identify the information needed, and determine whether the program increased the level of knowledge and understanding of the risks at stake, and assess the behavior changes that followed. We will plan and provide scheduled training sessions for the families, compile and analyze the surveys, and use the data to measure the impact of our project.
Funding Amount: $50,000
